The next instalment: megjelent a Soproni Szemle 2022/2

The second volume of Soproni Szemle 2022 has now appeared, I have been informed. It features the second part of my article on the Unger playing-card making and artist family. While the previous instalment was a family history that traced back the Unger family as an ancient burgher family of Sopron, the second publication focusses on the playing-card makers and the academic artist and their relationships with Sopron with plenty of brand new information. A new painting by Alajos Alois Unger is also presented: A portrait of what seems to have been his paternal grandmother with a representation of Lake Neusiedl (Fertő in Hungarian) in the background.

Another important publication is to appear soon.

After I had written the above, I received notice of a post on the Facebook page of Soproni Szemle featuring some details of my first article with the photo of my great-great grandfather Alajos II. Unger (1850-1900) and his family with the youngest child yet to be born. Details and images also below.
