On 29 October 1814 academic artist Alajos Alois Unger was baptised in his hometown. Thus, in all likelihood, he must have been born — as the second son of playing-card maker Mátyás Mathias Unger the Elder — on 28 October. He died of cholera in 1848 aged 34. Part of the reasoning behind this blog and my work is to ensure his life and works are kept in memory. I shall say no more than that for the moment for the reasons outlined in my previous post.
